yin yu shows apparent signs of being a ghost to those aware of them - his abilities are not yet strong enough to fake a perfect human appearance. his ears are slightly pointed, and his canines are a lot sharper than those of humans. his skin is as white as snow, and he has no fingerprints.
aside from these features, his appearance barely changed from what he looked like when still alive. his black hair is reaching his waist, usually held together by a braid or a ponytail. dark purplish brown, almost black eyes are the easiest way to read his mood, if he's not wearing his mask. while he wouldn't need his mask anymore, it gives him great comfort - people recognize him better with it.

after being subdued by jun wu, his soul was bound to his cursed shackle. once that was crushed, and his soul was freed, he died a quick and painless death. it took barely a few days for his soul to take the form of a little purple ghost flame. kept save and nurtured in the heavens by quan yizhen with guidance of hua cheng, it took a few years before he managed to change forms again, not yet human-like, but much closer. he went back to ghost city, hiding behind his mask.
after hua cheng's return, he took his place as his servant again, loyal to this day. while he is not actively hiding, he avoids contact with any heavenly officials as much as possible. he is working on his insecurities and slowly makes peace with his past sins.
yin yu carries his ashes with him, in the form of a jade pendant on his hip. not even hua cheng is aware these are his ashes - though, it's not hard to guess. while a common ritual, yin yu doesn't plan to give his ashes away.
only because of his status as a former martial god was he ranked savage. he aims to become stronger, however, and would not mind joining the slaughter in mount tonglu, should it ever open again. should he gain the supreme rank, he does not want to change his position and remain a servant to hua cheng.i am defaulting to yin yu as a ghost, but i do not mind writing threads with him in different times. human, god, banished, all is good for me. just let me know what you want for our interaction.

he often changes his appearance, leading to people thinking his true form is also one of his disguises. he doesn't mind it one bit.

it is no secret he treats xie lian with the most respect, although he also shows vague signs of sympathy for he xuan, yin yu and shi qingxuan, as those people either have stood up for xie lian or he considers them trustworthy enough to let them work directly underneath him.he used to be single ship, though, he is now available for shipping after chemistry building.

the cursed scimitar, forged from hua cheng's right eye during his time in mount tonglu. it is said, that e-ming only knows murder, the injuries it causes are extremely dangerous. even before gaining human form, it was able to move on it's own, or be controlled by hua cheng's mind. this is still the case now, although it rarely happens. they adore xie lian, which is clearly shown in how much they seek his affection. with people they don't like, they won't even open their eye, ignore them until provoked to fight.

e-ming is selectively mute, only talks around people they trust, and even then it's only a few sentences. they don't quite understand 'being human' even if it seems they're used to their body. aside from hua cheng and xie lian, the only people they tolerate are yin yu and he xuan, although they often ignore these two as well. due to being bullied by hua cheng for quite some time, there are moments in which it's scared of its master.

zhuzhi-lang has romantic feelings for tianlang-jun, which he keeps hidden from everyone. his view on family is distorted due to being abandoned at a young age, leading to him not actually considering his blood relatives his family.

the first and therefore eldest ghost king, the strongest and most cruel one as well. a soul's fragment born from madness, bringing plague and disaster wherever it's seen. he is manipulative and revels in the suffering of others. while he does seem calm most of the time, he cannot accept being told off.

upon hearing all his siblings had such prosperous and happy lives, especially his sisters, he was soon worshipped as a god who'd protect daughters on their way to marriage, who could grant lots of healthy, happy children, and additionally, an early spring after a harsh winter.
chai ningrui is a very soft-spoken person, only fighting when he absolutely has to, or to defend someone in need. he isn't exactly happy to be a heavenly official, though, to make sure nobody would ever suffer as much as he did, he'd do his best every day. while he gets along quite easily with people, he doesn't call other people his friends, knowing he's deceiving all of them by just existing. he is not a very popular person in the heavenly realm, and many people question why he sometimes helps ling wen in her palace when it isn't his duty. his usual answer would be "i'm simply bored."(yes, i am aware that i switched two characters here, i know that it was he xuan's fiancée who got murdered, and his sister committed suicide.)

they only show their true form when sleeping or appearing in young women's dreams after they or their parents had prayed for a happy marriage. disgusted by their own self, they never managed to deal with their trauma.
since they changed their name and appearance, and only ling wen and jun wu remember their true identity, he xuan cannot recognize them as his sister, just as well as they wouldn't be able to recognize him in his disguise.

lang qianqiu's retainer since youth, he takes his job very seriously and is always genuinely worried about the people he cares about. he has a very strong set of morals, and views all people as equal. even though he is a bit younger than his crown prince, he is very mature, most likely due to being raised as an orphan and taking care of his 'siblings' when young.
he was taken in by a yong'an noble family who couldn't get children on their own along with his 'siblings' when he was eight years old. three years later he met lang qianqiu and the two of them befriended each other, leading to his role as his personal retainer. he happily followed him even after the crown prince ascended.

since there is little to no information about him, and his deeper character is donghua only, consider him an oc of mine. i will build him as i go, should some major things happen, i will add them here. until then, he's pretty much an empty sheet, and i am more than happy to develop his character and relationships during interactions.

bottom lean, neither very dominant nor submissive. he doesn't have an awful lot of experience but enough to not be entirely clueless in most situations. it takes a bit of trust for him to get intimate with someone, mostly because he doesn't want to face discrimination for being trans. he has had top surgery, no bottom surgery. he doesn't need it for himself, so he will most likely never get it.
